Naylin was born in South Africa and has spent pretty much all of his adult life in New Zealand and regards himself as a Kiwi. He is a fanatical All Blacks supporter and has been on the Waikato Supporters Club Committee.

He takes great pride in his work and while keeping work at a very high standard clinically, he also likes to relax and enjoy life. Married to Sandie, who is one of the practice nurses and has 2 kids, Nisha aged 23 and Vishan aged 21.
He still plays competitive squash for the Waikato Hospital team.
He is also ‘just for fun” studying computer programming at Waikato University.
